The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA, or ACA) who brings a strong background in managing large client portfolios.
Basic Pay: €45,000-€50,000 per year DOE + annual bonus.

As we expand, we are hiring a recently qualified ACA/ACCA who wants more than a compliance role. What we are looking for
The successful applicant will manage a diverse portfolio of owner-managed SMEs across a range of industries. Clients are cloud-based (primarily Xero) with structured workflows and internal review processes. You will oversee year-end accounts, tax compliance, management reporting, and advisory queries, supported by junior team members and standardised processes. You will need to be comfortable working remotely and proficient in a variety of accounting and practice management software.

Career Progression
This role is designed as a stepping stone to Senior Client Manager level. High performers will have the opportunity to take on increased portfolio ownership, pricing input, process leadership, and team management responsibility as the firm grows.
Key Responsibilities
• Client Portfolio Management: Manage a large portfolio of clients, providing expert Accounting, Compliance and Tax services and guidance. We do not provide statutory audits to clients.
• Client Relationship Excellence: Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring first-class service aligned with our goal of delivering a excellent client experience.
• Trainee Management: Supervise, train, and mentor junior accountants and accounting technicians, overseeing their work and providing guidance on professional growth.
• Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities to enhance workflows and contribute to improving operational efficiency across client engagements.
• Software Proficiency: Work effectively with various accounting software, including Xero, Sage, and practice management CRM systems, to ensure seamless client servicing and accurate financial records.
Key Requirements
• Qualifications: ACCA, CPA, or ACA qualified.
• Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience (PQE) in a busy Irish-based accounting practice.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of at least 50 small to medium sized businesses.
• Strong experience in supervising and mentoring trainee accountants.
• Client-Centric: Passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience.
• Remote Work: Prior experience working in a remote environment; comfortable with digital communication and team collaboration tools.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and various CRM systems used in practice management.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Record daily financial transactions and post to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements monthly.
- Prepare invoices, process payments, and manage collections when necessary.
- Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Prepare and file VAT, VAT RTD and OSS returns
- Monitor budgets and expenditures, identifying and reporting discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and audit preparation.
- Management of all invoices, credit notes and bills
Key Requirements
- Qualifications: ATI qualified (or similar)
- Minimum of 5 years’ accounting/bookkeeping experience in a busy Irish-based accounting practice.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong Excel and data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of at least 50 small to medium sized businesses.
- Strong experience in supervising and mentoring trainee accountants.
